Why is it good for the birder?

Buchu Bush Camp is situated on the edge of De Hoop Nature Reserve, the largest nature reserve in the Western Cape and well-known for offering such species as Stanley's Bustard and the Cape's only breeding colony of Cape Vultures. However, there is also top-quality birding right around the camp: Hottentot Buttonquail occurs in the fynbos around the camp, Southern Tchragra in the thickets adjacent to the restaurant and Agulhas Clapper Lark a short walk away.

Your hosts: Rory and Eileen Allardice and their team.

Accommodation: Comfortable wooden chalets on stilts above the fynbos, connected by a boardwalk to the restaurant.

Rates: R550 per chalet per night. Meals can be ordered separately in the restaurant.
Meal Costs: Breakfast - R30 - R45, Lunch - R35 to R60, Dinner - From R105.
